I've noticed that defensive attitudes and traits formed while I was growing up can have a way of getting 'baked in' and not easy to change, even when they're no longer useful. I don't think I'm alone in this.
Identifying them, and finding ways to free myself, most always leads to more and deeper pleasure in my life.
